Mark Garnier welcomes £1 million investment and council tax freeze from council

Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest, welcomes the announcement from Wyre Forest District Council that it plans to invest £1 million into economic regeneration and to freeze council tax for the second year running. The money will come from council budget savings for 2012/ 13.

On hearing the news Mark said:

"The strategy from Wyre Forest District Council recognises two important points:

1. that people are struggling through the dire financial crises;

2. and that now is the time to spend money to boost local economic activity.

This intention from the cabinet shows a commitment to the local economy and a willingness to address the issues that face us all today."
