Mark Garnier, MP for Wyre Forest welcomed a visit from representatives of the Severn Valley Railway in the House of Commons yesterday. Nick Ralls, Mick York, and Mike Balls arrived in Westminster to attend a reception for the Heritage Railway Association (HRA).

Mark Garnier MP and students from Wyre Forest have visited Auschwitz-Birkenau. Wyre Forest's local MP joined more than 200 other post-16 students from around Worcestershire on the Project, which was a unique opportunity to learn about what happened at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

On Sunday, Mark Garnier MP for Wyre Forest joined 350 other fun runners to raise money for KEMP Hospice. All dressed as Santa Claus, they ran, jogged and walked 10 kilometres on a route starting in Kidderminster’s Brinton Park, via Wolverley and back to the finish at Brinton Park.

Mark, who is a long standing supporter of Kemp, raised around £350.

Mark joined Spennells community leader Ian Siddall and a large group of local residents to collect litter on the Spennells estate this Saturday. The team met at the shops in Spennells and collected rubbish around the area, including the playing fields.

Mark today joined Cllr Nicky Gale and a big local crowd to help tidy up Oldington and Foley Park. The morning was organised by Nicky Gale and Wyre Forest Community Housing, and was joined by over twenty local residents and schoolchildren. Wyre Forest District Council helped support the event. Mark has joined in a number of these events in the past. "I think it is very important that people take an interest in their local community" says Mark, "and these big tidy ups are one way of doing it."

With the election just two days away, a group from the National Convention – the senior team of the voluntary Conservative Party – descended on Wyre Forest to help get out those last messages to local voters.

With the general election just a few days away, Mark and his Conservative team were out and about in both Stourport and Bewdley, meeting with local shoppers and talking about the issues facing us all.

Andrew Mitchell, the Conservative International Development shadow, visited Kidderminster to support Mark's local campaign. Congratulating the local team on an impressive campaign, Andrew later met with a group of local residents to discuss Conservative proposals on support for developing nation.

BBC Hereford and Worcester held a live candidates' debate today at the Glades Leisure Centre in Kidderminster. Hosted by Nathan Turvey, candidates from the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Health Concern parties debated issues raised by local residents in Wyre Forest.
